AM DeBrincat – Halogen Venus
Hosted By 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace
May 12th - June 9th, 2018
ARTIST STATEMENT
My paintings blend found digital images with printmaking and oil painting to explore the place where digital and analog meet. I’m interested in expanding the language of painting through the intervention of digital photography. Just as we strive to find a balance between our online and offline lives in the contemporary moment, my paintings blend digital imagery with the hand-wrought language of painting to explore the harmony between online and offline, digital and analog. Combining these disparate languages in a visual puzzle, the paintings ultimately explore how we create identity in the digital age.
