ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Amanda Adomaitis’s work is a captivating exploration of identity and interaction. Her ceramic sculptures, reminiscent of modern “creature” sightings, delve into the depths of our psyche, reflecting our deepest fears and desires. Through her art, Amanda meditates on the traits that both compel and haunt us.
Her fascination with the uncanny and the notion of feeling as action is evident throughout her work. She masterfully assembles features and body parts across species, creating a study in contrasts that is both alluring and repulsive. The vibrant colours, inspired by candy and confections, add a touch of beauty and cheer to the otherwise grotesque.
Amanda’s background in literature, coupled with her education at Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion, has shaped her unique visual creativity. Her journey has taken her from London to Los Angeles, where she currently resides with her husband and her beloved French Bulldog, Charlie – the best creature she knows.
