ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Mickey Mason (b. 1993) is a self-taught artist based in Port Elliot, South Australia. His background in film, where he both studied and worked, imbues his art with a distinctly narrative quality.
Mason’s work frequently features motifs drawn from genres such as westerns, adventure, spy thrillers, and science fiction. His art delves into the introspective, often portraying enigmatic characters within dreamlike settings where the surf is perpetually perfect, smoking is ubiquitous, and alien encounters are commonplace.
Working with diverse mediums, including acrylic paint and glitter, Mason often creates thickly textured canvases that vividly depict his surreal visions.
