Congratulations to our represented artist Brian Cirmo (USA), recipient of The 2023 Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Grant Artist Grant. Three recipients were awarded a total of USD36,000 and will participate in a group exhibition at The Princetown Art Association and Museum in 2024.

The mission of this grant is to promote public awareness of and a commitment to American art, and to encourage interest in artists who lack adequate recognition. The Orlowsky and Freed Grant was started in 2010. There have been 40 recipients to date with more than USD375,000 being dispersed to under-recognized American painters over the age of 45.

Cirmo, an Adjunct Professor at Pratt, is a nationally exhibiting artist. Solo exhibitions include Where Teardrops Fall, 532 Gallery, Paintings, Lake George Arts Project, Black, the Rice Gallery, McDaniel College, Westminster, and Patterns, Cycles, and Change, Wilson Gallery, Le Moyne College, all located in New York. He has appeared in numerous group exhibitions across the United States and has been featured in numerous publications including, Vast Magazine, and Studio Visit Magazine. Curated exhibitions include, Masters of War at Albany Center Gallery; Abstract /’kelCHer/ at OCC Art Gallery and The Roaring Twenties at Joyce Goldstein Gallery, again both in New York.

Cirmo has featured in numerous publications, most recently, the artist featured in CanvasRebel. Cirmo’s work is held in a variety of public and private collections.
