Artist Biography

Emma Young is an Adelaide-based glass blower and designer whose vibrant and colorful works bridge the gap between function and aesthetics. Emma holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a specialization in Glass from the University of South Australia, where she was mentored by Gabriella Bisetto and other local artists. In 2015, she received a scholarship to the renowned Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, USA, further enhancing her practical experience and receiving valuable mentorship.

Emma’s expertise was further honed through a two-year training program at the JamFactory, an iconic craft and design institution. She now operates from the JamFactory’s Adelaide glass studio, where she continues to explore diverse techniques and experiment with each new creation. Emma’s artwork is regularly featured in local and national art prizes and is consistently exhibited in group shows.

Her collections draw inspiration from flowers, plants, fruit, Australian currency, and everyday supermarket items. Through these familiar objects, Emma creates a connection with her audience, often evoking nostalgia, pride in local icons, and personal childhood memories.
