Biography
Flora Castiglia, a Buenos Aires-based artist, was immersed in the world of art from childhood. Her mother, also an artist, worked from a home studio, fostering an environment of creativity and artistic discipline.
Castiglia’s early works included interpretations of record covers and artistic designs for musicians. Her later studies in communication with an arts orientation further shaped her artistic vision. These influences are evident in the subtle undertones of her imagery, which can be described as “melodic,” imbued with references to musical notes in both the form and composition of her organic portrayals.
She states, “Not everything has to be seen as it is. Encrypted information has to be decoded. Nothing is simple and ephemeral nor literal. The information could be misleading, it is necessary to stop for a while to observe. Meaning is underneath.”
