Tschiegg is an established artist whose practice moves between abstraction and figuration, creating sophisticated works that explore vulnerability, identity, and the complexities of everyday life. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an extensive background in advertising and design, she brings a refined understanding of composition, colour, and visual communication to her paintings.
Tschiegg’s work is immediately recognisable. Androgynous figures emerge through warm pastel palettes, often depicted in moments of stillness, intimacy, or quiet vulnerability. Her paintings transform ordinary human experiences—including the mundane, tender, and difficult—into visually captivating narratives that invite viewers to find their own meaning within the scene.
There is an honesty and self-assurance at the heart of Tschiegg’s practice. Rather than prescribing a particular interpretation, she deliberately leaves space for the viewer to bring their own experiences and emotions to each work. As the artist explains:
“No explanation, no text; everyone can imagine what they want. Titles are in the image, and that’s all I’ll say about them…”
