Biography

Portuguese-Brazilian painter Talita Barbosa graduated in Fine Arts from Pontíficia Universidade Católica de Campinas in Brazil and currently lives in Portugal. Her work is inspired by pop and comic art, painting her highly graphical compositions on framed canvas.

Strong and vibrant colour applied using precise outline and contrast, creates contrast between the various elements within Barbosa’s work. While the pop and comic genre is not itself unique, it is perhaps Barbosa’s design oriented composition, her grouping of iconic subjects and complementary colour combinations that sets her work apart.

The artist states, “I consider art in my life as a gift that I was given in order to incite joy in people’s lives and homes. This itself contributes to make it a better world. I believe that we all need colour in our lives to inspire our day to day with that joy enthusiasm.”

Barbosa has participated in numerous Group shows and Solo exhibitions in both Portugal and Brazil and has appeared in numerous media outlets for her artistic innovation. She has also partnered with fashion brands creating original designs to feature on shirts, bags, sneakers and jackets.
