Biel Miralles Flaquer’s artistic journey began with a formal education in Fine Arts at the University of Vigo, Spain, and a postgraduate degree in Fashion Design. However, his creative expression transcends academia; it is a deeply personal and soulful exploration. Biel’s artistic awakening came at the age of six under the tutelage of his great-aunt, a painter who introduced him to the world of art and its techniques. His diverse training includes Galician stone carving at the Escola de Canteiros, and his experiences as a surf instructor and surfboard maker in Mallorca have profoundly shaped his material choices and creative direction.
Biel’s artistic focus lies primarily in stone sculpting, and his latest works draw inspiration from ancient civilizations, conveying messages for the present and future. His art is imbued with mysticism and humanist spirituality. While his past experiences resonate in the geometric lines and functionality of his sculptural art and furniture, his passion remains centered on stone sculpting.
