BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Aimée currently lives and works in southern California. Her paintings hang in collections all over the world, from the U.S. and Canada, to Europe and South America.

Aimée uses animal imagery in her work—be it an otter, a bird, a buffalo or a horse—to convey certain states of “wordless emotion” – states that she feels animals more clearly, truthfully and immediately express because their lack of verbal language.

Aimée Rolin Hoover developed two obsessions very early in life: drawing and animals. If she wasn’t luring wild raccoons near with half eaten sandwiches, she was scribbling their likeness in her childhood sketchbooks.

Given her inclinations, it’s not a surprise that the first chapter of her professional career involved painting collectors’ beloved pets. From 1999-2012, Aimée worked as a commissioned-based pet portrait artist, creating over 150 custom portraits for clients all over the world.
