Peter-John de Villiers is a South African born artist (1980) that moved to the United States in 1988, and has been living in Norway since 2009. His work crosses boundaries between abstract and figurative, but always identifies with the connection between man and the experience of nature. He uses a vocabulary of mark making that is both aggressive and uninhibited at times, balanced with a delicate thread of intricate line work. The Lifelines series is an expression of life, an observation of the complexity of growth, development and decay, and the common formula that binds all living things. The work of Peter-John de Villiers has been exhibited internationally in New York, San Francisco, Mexico City, Norway, Australia, and is found in private collections around the world.
