Shirley Battrick is a potter living and working in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast. She has lived and studied pottery in the United States and is a graduate of ANU School of Art. Shirley’s current works at 19 KAREN look at domesticity; by subverting the traditional forms of domestic earthenware and using a variety of decorative techniques Shirley challenges how we view these characteristically ‘female’ objects.
