Congratulations to Ben Sheers for being chosen as a finalist in the 2010 Metro Art Award. The Metro Art Award is an annual prize for Australian artists under 35 years of age. The Award now in its’ eighth year, is Australia’s richest prize for painting for emerging artists.

The Lethbridge Gallery has established a strong reputation for exhibiting works demonstrating exceptional detail and creativity. With the intention of fostering the next generation of artists, Lethbridge Gallery is now hosting the Lethbridge 10 000. This is an exciting new art competition open to national and international artists for small-scale artworks.

Marco Wagner's work has been Selected to appear in the American Illustration 29 annual. From an impressive 8,033 pictures entered by over 1,200 illustrators, magazines, agencies and publishers, the jury selected only 388 images by a majority vote or better to appear in the book and represent the best images from 2009. AI29 will be printed in full color and distributed world-wide in hard-cover immediately after The Party, November 11, 2010, again as part of Illustration Week in New York City.

Johnny Romeo was recently commissioned to paint a 9-metre media wall in front of a live audience and streamed live on TV. This event celebrated the launch of STVDIO, a new channel by SBS and Foxtel, focusing on the arts.
