Masha Vereshchenko was born in Ryazan, Russia to an artistic family-- all of whom struggled to pursue art. Her work is heavily inspired by Russian iconography and the dark, wood-carved fairy tale creatures her father created: skulls, three-headed dragons, owls, spiders and the witch Baba Yaga and her crow-footed house. Masha's art is a deep, emotionally honest reflection of what's going on in her life at the moment. She moved to America (Detroit) at the age of 12 before relocating to Pittsburgh where she currently works as a pizza delivery driver and a theatrical scenic painter to support her art practice.
