From Pennsylvania Luke Yocum has experienced growing up in an ultra-conservative, religious home, to the depths of drug use and then onto being diagnosed with Tourette's & ADHD. Using his art as a therapy; Luke's works give viewers large, sometimes painful glimpses into his yesterdays. Luke D. Yocum is not your typical village dwelling artisan. He has truly graduated the school of hard knocks, and is grateful for every success he has experienced. He takes the time to appreciate the small things in life and lives above the superficial drama of popular culture, often creating art that not only peers into his torn past, but also sends messages about the political and social issues affecting the world today. Luke will be exhibiting his solo show 'Champagne Hipster' at 19 KAREN in March 2012.
