Georg Whelan
Biography | Artwork Artist Statement.
Georg is an artist from Brisbane who has been living between East Coast Australia and Berlin for the past two years.
His art practice aims to incorporate real life as much as possible with an emphasis on capturing the rhythm of the world in order to respond to it.
His paintings act as narrative for the identities he meets, playing out real life but also joining segments of reality to create a junction that is more encompassing. His work looks at the way modern day identities interact with visual reality while involving and being more concerned with actual human sentiments, feelings and urges that cant necessarily be seen.
